Electronic Competition No. 096/2026: bidding process and timetable

Flights and connectivity at Bonito Regional Airport
At present, Bonito Regional Airport is served by the country’s three largest airlines - Gol, Azul and LATAM -, operating direct flights to Congonhas, Guarulhos and Viracopos airports in São Paulo. This expansion of the route network has improved the municipality’s connectivity and has reinforced the airport’s position as one of the main gateways for tourists travelling to the Ecotourism Capital.
What the refurbishment will deliver, and the expected benefits
The planned refurbishment is intended to update the terminal’s structure, offering passengers greater comfort, improved operating conditions and more efficient service, in line with the growth in visitor numbers and the continued expansion of tourism in Bonito.
For Mayor Josmail Rodrigues, publishing the tender marks another step forward in developing local infrastructure.
“Bonito has been welcoming more and more visitors, and that requires investments that keep pace with this growth. Modernising our airport is essential to provide a more suitable structure for passengers, strengthen tourism and contribute to the municipality’s economic development. It is a project that benefits the whole population and everyone who chooses Bonito as their destination.“
Bonito Regional Airport plays a strategic role in the local economy, supporting tourism and increasing the municipality’s links with key hubs around the country. With the terminal upgrade, the expectation is to provide an even higher-quality welcome for visitors and to keep up with rising demand for flights to Bonito.
