Safran Electrical & Power announced this week that it has opened a new electrical wiring factory in Chihuahua, Mexico, reinforcing its status as the world’s largest aerospace wiring facility and as a trailblazer for the aerospace industry in Mexico.

With Safran Electrical & Power’s fifth wiring plant, the Chihuahua campus now spans more than 71,000 m² and will employ 5,300 people. The site supports leading aerospace programmes for Airbus, ATR, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky, as well as space and advanced air mobility programmes, including Blue Origin and Wisk.
New 10,600 m² plant and job creation timeline
Covering 10,600 m², the new facility is intended to speed up current programmes, get ready for the next generation of single-aisle aircraft, help secure new defence contracts and strengthen the company’s position in advanced air mobility markets. It is expected to create more than 800 jobs, with operations scheduled to begin in November 2026.
