The second edition of the Freedom of Mobility Forum from Stellantis - organised and moderated by Wavestone - will take place on 3 April, with an updated approach.
A more open format for the Freedom of Mobility Forum 2024
Following criticism of the 2023 edition for leaving too little room for discussion, this year’s event is set to be less tightly structured, giving the panel of experts more space to debate and challenge one another’s perspectives.
At the heart of this edition is one of today’s most widely discussed questions: “How will the planet accommodate the mobility needs of eight billion people over the coming decades?”
You can join the debate
The digital discussion, which you can follow online - simply register via the link - will be split into three sessions, each including Q&A. It will feature an international panel of five experts, drawn from different fields:
- Carlos Tavares; Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis (Business);
- Majora Carter; urban planner, podcaster and author (Society);
- Matthias Schmelzer; economic historian and climate activist (Economy);
- Manal Jalloul; co-founder of Al-Lab and member of the executive board of the Global Al Ethics Institute;
- Roberto Schaeffer, professor of energy economics and contributor to the IPCC (Environment).
Each expert will be put to the test by students from three countries (Brandeis University, in the USA; HEC Paris, in France; and the National School of Applied Sciences Kénitra, in Morocco).
Moderation by Wavestone
For the second year in a row, Cecilia R. Edwards, a partner at Wavestone - a global consultancy specialising in business transformation - will moderate the discussion.
The Freedom of Mobility Forum
The forum was created after Stellantis left ACEA (the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association), explaining that it wanted a fresh approach to the problems and challenges surrounding the mobility of the future.
The first edition (2023) explored the theme “In a decarbonised world, will freedom of mobility be accessible only to a few privileged people?”. The live online broadcast attracted an audience of two thousand people.
Stellantis and Wavestone want the Freedom of Mobility Forum to increasingly become a leading platform for discussing the challenges of future mobility.
