According to the PSP, the suspects operated by forcing entry into commercial vehicles, from which they stole tools and machines used on building sites, causing significant losses for the affected companies.

Investigation into a rise in aggravated theft

Following an increase in this type of incident locally, police launched an investigation that enabled officers to identify and trace the alleged perpetrators.

Recovered tools and machines valued at around €11,000

During the enquiries, officers recovered toolboxes and machinery valued at around €11,000, along with several boxes that were already empty.

Based on the evidence gathered, the judicial authority issued arrest warrants outside of a situation of being caught in the act. The two defendants were brought before the Lisbon West Judicial Court, which imposed the coercive measure of providing proof of identity and residence.
